Chicken Drumstick, specially this recipe is one of my favorites as the taste is full of flavors and is delicious too. In fact you can serve Chicken Drumstick as it is or you can make Foil Chicken Drumstick.
So What exactly is Chicken Drumstick ?
Well Drumstick is the leg portion of chicken. Many people love this portion as the meat over there is very soft and not that chewy as compared to the breast portion. We INDIAN love Chicken Drumstick portion over other pieces.
Chicken Drumstick Recipe is cooked in nut paste and with very less ingredients, the flavors turn out so rich and creamy which is delectable and delicious.
If you preparing Foil chicken drumstick, the only thing is you won’t be able to warm the chicken leg pieces as they are wrapped in foil. But you can use boiling method to warm the leg piece if needed. The method is explained in the Notes section.

- 1/2 kg chicken with bones
- 1 tbsp ginger garlic
- 1 tbsp Vinegar
- 1 cup water
- salt to taste
- 5 – 6 Crushed Garlic
- 2-3 tbsp ghee/ oil
- 50 gms cashew nuts ( kaju )
- 4 – 5 green chilies
- 3-4 tbsp milk
- 1/4 cup water
- 3-4 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1/4th cup curd
- 1-2 tbsp fresh cream
HOW TO MAKE CHICKEN DRUMSTICK :
- Clean and wash leg piece, prick all over with knife and apply vinegar, salt, ginger garlic paste all over the chicken properly and marinate for half an hour to one hour before preparing the chicken.
- Place the marinated chicken ( with the marinate juice ) into large pot, pour water and cook for 10-15 minutes till tender.
- Grind the nut paste in a food processor and make a fine paste by adding milk if required.
- Heat ghee/oil in a thick bottom pan, add crushed garlic, fry till light brown.
- Add nut paste and fry for sometime, add beaten curd and saute for a minute or two.
- Now add chicken Drumstick, salt and saute for a minute.
- Add fresh cream, mix well and cook until gravy turns thick.
- Add mayonnaise, mix well and cook for a minute.
- Serve hot .
- If you want to serve as creamy white Chicken drumstick. While the chicken is being ready, cut the foil paper into medium square 8-10 pieces and keep aside.
- Once the chicken is ready, take each foil paper, place one chicken piece with adequate amount of gravy with it and wrap it. Take another piece of foil paper and repeat the same procedure until all the pieces are done. Serve hot .
- You can add more green chillies if you want more spice , for less spice reduce the number of chillies .
- You can serve this creamy white chicken Drumsticks in foil too. Cut foil into medium pieces and keep aside. Place each piece of chicken in each foil square piece with adequate amount of gravy and wrap it. Repeat with each chicken pieces until all done.
- You can prepare this Chicken Drumstick Recipe before serving time and keep aside . When you want to serve ,warm in microwave or with boiling method. Boil water in a large vessel , keep strainer and place few pieces on it and cover it with large deep vessel and cook for 5-7 minutes .Remove the foil chicken from the strainer , and place the rest of the foil chicken pieces , cook for 5-7 minutes. Once all the chicken pieces are done , serve hot.
- You can even prepare this recipe with chicken pieces or only drumsticks, which ever pieces you prefer.
